Fitness tracker company Fitbit is recalling more than 1.7 million of its smartwatches due to a technical problem.

Fitbit has recalled its"Ionic" line of smartwatches after several users reported that batteries were overheating and burning them."Fitbit has received at least 115 reports in the United States," the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said in a statement," of the battery in the watch overheating with 78 reports of burn injuries in the United States including two reports of third-degree burns and four reports of second-degree burns .

The recall only applies to the Ionic line, Fitbit said in a statement. Fitbit sold more than one million units of the Ionic smartwatch in the U.S. and 700,000 units internationally. Other companies have been dealing with recalls. Tesla has recalled more than 300,000 of its vehicles due to problems with their rearview mirrors, windshield defrosters, and seatbelt chime signals.
