1 dead following mobile home fire in northeastern Jefferson County

Palmerdale and Glennwood fire departments, as well as the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, were dispatched just before 8 p.m. Saturday to a home in the 6700 block of Womack Road.

Sheriff’s Lt. Joni Money said callers to 911 reported hearing several explosions. It was also reported that an elderly man may have been inside the home.Once the blaze was extinguished, a body was found inside. The victim’s identity has not yet been confirmed.
