Man found fatally shot in crashed SUV in northeast Houston, police say

A man was found fatally shot in a crashed SUV on the side of the road, according to the Houston Police Department. Police responded to calls of a shooting and found a Chevrolet Suburban in a ditch near the 5300 block of East Houston Road around 2:20 a.m., Houston police Lt. Ignacio Izaguirre told On Scene reporters. The passenger of the car had multiple gunshot wounds to his chest. Officers attempted to provide aid, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene, Izaguirre said.
