The Deep Ellum 100 nonprofit will give each winner a $1,000 grant.

The band is one of 10 recipients of a $1,000 grant and a spot on an upcoming live album to mark 150 years of Deep Ellum.Deep Ellum 100 has announced 10 musical acts who’ll each receive $1,000 grants and be included on the upcoming live albumThe album is the brainchild of Gianni Madrini, a local fashion editor and co-founder of Deep Ellum 100 , a nonprofit that formed during the pandemic.
“I’ve lived in Deep Ellum for years, and I’m still completely blown away by all the incredible talent we have here,” says Scott Tucker, a local musician who works with Deep Ellum 100. Each artist will perform three songs live Oct. 5 during a public concert at Trees. Organizers will record the show and pick one song from each act for inclusion onwhich will come out in 2023 on streaming platforms and also as a vinyl album on Dallas-based Idol Records.
“We also want to help put the focus on music in Deep Ellum again, since we’ve seen so much gentrification in the area,” Madrini says. “The artists and music venues especially need support in times like these.”
