Queensland’s recent COVID-19 outbreak appears to be burning itself out behind the walls of home quarantine, with 11 cases recorded in the state on Thursday.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said they expected more cases in the coming days, but the cluster appeared to be well contained by keeping contacts in quarantine. “What we are seeing now is more of these regional communities close to the Queensland border, especially out in the south-west area, now going into a period of lockdown,” she said. “We do not want to see that, as far as creeping north. If we have to implement harder measures, we will,” she said.
