One half of the Mavericks’ trade duo sizzled with competitiveness, while the other showed maturity outside stats.
Despite missing the Mavericks’ last game before the break with back tightness, Irving posted 32 points, 15 assists and seven rebounds in 29 minutes of his eighth All-Star Game. With a layup early in the fourth quarter, Irving broke Rolando Blackmon’s Mavericks record for points in a single All-Star Game .
Here are some more observations from Irving’s first All-Star appearance as a Maverick, Luka Doncic fourth in his five NBA seasons and other Dallas-related happenings during this All-Star weekend:He finished with four points , five assists and two rebounds in 19 minutes, breaking his streak of scoring exactly eight points in each of his first three All-Star games.
