While some MCU characters pale in comparison to the strength of their Marvel Comics counterparts, others have been given some powerful upgrades.

Although not a regular occurrence, some characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe have been given much more power than their counterparts from Marvel Comics. Since the inception of the MCU with 2008's Iron Man, dozens of characters have been adapted into live-action, the majority of whom have been based on characters from Marvel Comics' rich eight-decade history.

9 Aldrich Killian In Marvel Comics, Aldrich Killian appeared in 2005's Iron Man Vol. 4 #1 as a genius-level scientist who worked with Dr. Maya Hansen to develop Extremis, attempting to create a new type of super soldier. This storyline was adapted into part of the narrative for Iron Man 3, which gave Aldrich Killian a much larger and more villainous role.

6 Ebony Maw The MCU's version of Ebony Maw shares many similarities with his Marvel Comics counterpart, including their shared use of telekinesis, being able to move objects with only a thought. However, while Marvel Comics' Maw much prefers to use his powers of manipulation and persuasion, the MCU's Maw showcased the sheer power of his telekinesis.
