If you love a beer garden, you're in luck. Nottinghamshire is blessed with both city and countryside pubs with stunning outdoor areas to enjoy a refreshing pint, a chilled glass of rosé or an ice-cold soft drink
Dom Gottelier, general manager, said: "The garden at The Old Vol is everything you’d expect to find attached to our stylish venue, booasting our sushi and pizza kitchen, full outside bar and of course NG14 World, probably one of the best and most innovative children’s play areas you’ll ever come across.
The pub's new menu has just launched with light lunches and tapas. Moving closer to summer, the pub will be taking bookings for anyone who wants to eat on the terrace. The Plough The quintessential English country pub has an equally quintessential beer garden. Nestled in the picturesque village of Normanton-on-the-Wolds, it has seats in the sun or under a sheltered pergola which has heaters and lights.
In fact pub owners Lincoln Green claim the Sir John has "the finest ‘secret' beer garden in Nottingham." Drinkers can take a seat on the wooden benches decked out with colourful cushions, or perch on one of the colourful beer barrels. In winter roaring log fires create a cosy atmosphere in the bar, but come summer, attention turns to the garden with its neatly manicured lawn and colourful flowers. The Nevile Arms The owners have been getting their beer garden ready for months, making sure the lawn is thick and lush. It is nearly a year since the village pub reopened with new proprietors at the helm after a three-month closure.
So that's the inside but what about outdoors? Well there's probably just as many spots to sit in outside as there are indoors. Customers can take a pew on picnic benches dotted around the garden, either in the sun or under the pergola.
