HOUSTON, Texas -- A 14-year-old girl is the latest victim in a string of violence impacting children in the Houston area.
Houston police say she was injured when a drive-by shooter fired into her family's apartment on Westview near Gessner in west Houston overnight. The 14-year-old girl was sleeping in a bedroom at the time when she was struck in the stomach, HPD said. She is expected to survive.The shooting happened just after 9 p.m. Tuesday, and HPD believes the shots came from a car that was driving by the complex.Northwest and Safe Houston officers are at a shooting scene 10100 Westview. 14 year old female transported in stable condition. 202
