Update: 17-year-old girl at center of Amber Alert found safe, Garland police say
Yadhira Medina, 17, was last seen Saturday, July 2 in Garland.Updated at 12:05 p.m.: Garland police say Yadhira Medina is home safe with her family. An investigation is ongoing.An Amber Alert was issued Sunday for a 17-year-old girl who authorities believe was kidnapped by a 20-year-old man in Garland.Garland police were called Saturday about 8:30 p.m. to the 3200 block of West Buckingham Road where a witness told officers Yadhira was seen being dragged into a white pickup truck.
Yadhira is Hispanic, with reddish-brown hair and brown eyes and wears glasses. She is 5-11 and 150 pounds. Yadhira was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, black sweat pants and carrying a black backpack. Police are looking for 20-year-old David Maldonado in connection with the kidnapping. Maldonado is Hispanic with black hair and brown eyes. He is 5-7 and 160 pounds.
Another person was driving the white pickup, which left the area and traveled west on Buckingham Road, police said in a news release., Breaking News Reporter .
