23-year-old Tyler Gonzalez-Inthiphan was sentenced to 18 to 40 years in prison on Tuesday after pleading guilty to homicide charges for his involvement in the 2020 East Lampeter Motel shooting.
Gonzalez-Inthiphan, of Lancaster city, was charged with criminal homicide, conspiracy to commit criminal homicide, attempted criminal homicide, carrying a firearm without a license, discharging a firearm into an occupied structure and aggravated assault. He was sentenced by Lancaster County Judge Jeffrey Wright.
During the trial, First Assistant District Attorney Todd Brown explained that on March 19, 2020, Gonzalez-Inthiphan and 22-year-old co-defendant Joshua Luciano discharged firearms from a blue Acura MDX at the Motor Lodge on Route 340 after a disputed marijuana deal.One victim, 21-year-old Alexander Rivera, died from a gunshot wound to the head, and a second victim suffered from a gunshot wound to the stomach.
“Given his comparative culpability and his cooperation at trial against his co-defendant, the Commonwealth believes that this a fair resolution,” said Brown, according to the Lancaster County District Attorney's Office. Brown also said that he'd received input from the victim's family throughout the negotiation process.
Luciano was convicted of criminal homicide, conspiracy to commit criminal homicide, attempted homicide, aggravated assault, delivery of a controlled substance and carrying a firearm without a license on March 19, 2020. He was sentenced to life in prison without parole, plus 67 years.
