Daily News | 2 dead, 8 wounded in separate Philly shootings
Police investigate a homicide scene at Broad Street and Lehigh Avenue in North Philadelphia on Monday.Two people were killed and eight others wounded in separate shootings around Philadelphia on Monday, police said.
Around 1:30 a.m., a 36-year-old man was fatally shot in the head outside on the 3800 block of North 9th Street in Hunting Park. The man, who was not identified, was pronounced dead at the scene by medics. Police reported no arrests.. More than 1,230 people have been shot in Philadelphia this year, according to police, as the city continues to experience a surge in gun violence.
Shortly before 6 p.m., three men were wounded in a shooting outside on the 5000 block of North Franklin Street, police said.
