Two minors who entered Metuchen High School, and were not enrolled there, were charged Wednesday following an investigation, authorities said. The two juveniles, who were not identified because of their ages, entered the school Wednesday morning for an unknown reason. The school was placed on lockdown out of an abundance of caution and so a search of the premises could be conducted, according to a joint statement from the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Metuchen Police Department.
No threat was found but the pair was charged with an act of juvenile delinquency for offenses which if committed by an adult would equate to criminal trespassing, the office said. If you purchase a product or register for an account through one of the links on our site, we may receive compensation.
