2 shot, including 60-year-old man, after confrontation at adjoining apartment complexes, police say
happened a little bit before 3:30 a.m. at the apartments in the 8800 block of Woodway, Lt. Ronnie Willkens said. Prior to the shooting, the 60-year-old man who lived on one side of the apartment complex checked his security cameras and saw two males come through a"huge hole" in one of the nearby fences, the lieutenant said.Houston police are investigating after two people were shot, including a 60-year-old man, at adjoining apartment complexes in west Houston.
The 60-year-old was shot once in the leg, while one of the men he confronted was shot multiple times, according to Willkens. The injured man ran back through the fence and ended up in a stairwell, he said. Police received two 911 calls, one from an apartment owner who found the injured man who ran through the fence, and the other from the 60-year-old resident.
Both the 60-year-old and the injured man are in the hospital, Willkens said. The man is in critical condition, while the 60-year-old is stable and cooperating with law enforcement, he said. Police think the other man who came through the fence must have left with the gun or guns used in the shooting when he fled on foot, Willkens said. It's unclear if either man lived in the apartments.
