2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Could Catch Fire If Water Leaks Into The Trunk | Carscoops carscoops
was first made aware of potential water ingress issues shortly after the 2022 C-Class was introduced in the United States on May 6, 2022. During investigations, the German car manufacturer discovered that opening the trunk while it is wet could cause water to drip into the trunk and that this water could come in contact with the SAM. Mercedes-Benz is aware of 42 warranty claims in the U.S.
Impacted owners will be notified before November 11, 2022 and instructed to bring their vehicle to their nearest dealership where a cover will be fitted over the SAM.
