2023 Toyota Prius starts at $28,545, goes all the way to $39,090.
That sub-$30,000 price tag is pegged to the base LE 2023 Prius, which sends power solely to the front wheels courtesy of a 2.0-liter inline-four meshed to an electric motor. Combined, the two power sources make 194 hp and 139 lb-ft of torque—not bad for an economy hybrid. The front-wheel-drive Prius is also the most-fuel efficient, delivering a manufacturer-claimed combined 57 mpg.Expect to pay $31,990 to get into the mid-tier XLE trim.
The top-level Limited trim, starting at $35,560, gets the 12.3-inch screen and fixed glass roof as standard, as well as heated and ventilated front seats, a power rear hatch, and a heated steering wheel. Things like a digital rearview mirror, heated rear seats, and automatic parking assist are available as options. Fully loaded, the Limited Prius tops out at $39,090. Like the XLE trim, the limited car also has those 19 inches, meaning a maximum of 52 mpg combined.
If you want all-wheel drive, you'll have to pay an extra $1400, regardless of which trim you go for. The extra electric motor out back means better traction and 2 more hp, but it also means more weight, which equates to less efficiency. Toyota says base LE cars can pull off a combined 54 mpg when equipped with AWD, while XLE and Limited cars will only be able to manage 49 mpg combined.Toyota says the 2023 Prius will arrive on U.S.
