The 2024 Renault Megane E-Tech will compete with the likes of the Kia Niro EV and Volvo EX30
Megane E-Tech have finally been announced for the Australian market before deliveries start towards the end of this year., dubbed the Techno EV60. As the name implies, this model features a 60 kWh lithium-ion battery pack with a 400-volt system and support for DC fast-charging at speeds of up to 130 kW. Renault says approximately 300 km of range can be added in 30 minutes with a DC charger.
battery pack doesn’t use rare earth metals and that it will consume 15.6 kWh/100 km, enough to give it a WLTP range of 454 km . The SUV will need 7.4 seconds to hit 62 mph .A plethora of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems come standard on the SUV. These include automatic emergency braking with junction assist that can detect pedestrians and cyclists, emergency lane-keeping assist with oncoming traffic and road-edge detection, and adaptive cruise control.
This battery pack drives a 160 kW electric motor at the front wheels with 300 Nm of torque and four levels of regenerative braking. The French brand is particularly proud of the fact that the Megane E-Tech’s battery pack doesn’t not use rare earth metals and that it will consume 15.6 kWh/100 km, enough to give it a WLTP range of 454 km.
