The 2025 BMW X3 40d xDrive, equipped with a turbo-diesel inline-six engine, will be available in Europe starting May. This electrified 3.0-litre engine delivers 223kW of power and 670Nm of torque. While the 40d XDrive will be offered in Europe, it will not be available in Australia.
Turbo-diesel inline-six power is making a comeback for the 2025 BMW X3, with the X3 40d xDrive joining the popular mid-sized luxury SUV range in Europe from May onwards. The electrified 3.0-litre turbo-diesel variant will be sold alongside a pair of turbo-petrol versions, a smaller turbo-diesel mild-hybrid, and a plug-in hybrid , rounding out the global powertrain offerings. CarExpert understands that the newly announced 40d XDrive won’t be sold Down Under.
