Available in various vibrant colours and fun fonts, this poster pays homage to Rosa Parks, an African-American seamstress who lived in Montgomery, Alabama. In 1955, she refused to give up her seat on the bus for a white man.
When the bus driver repeatedly asked her to move, she said no. When the bus driver threatened to call the police and have her arrested, Parks replied: “You may do that”. Her actions inspired the Montgomery Bus Boycott against racial segregation on public transport in the US, marking the foundational event in the civil rights movement.
