A second man has been arrested on a capital murder charge in the fatal shooting of a 25-year-old manTravon Samples, 17, was booked into the Dallas County jail Feb. 27, with bail set at $2.25 million. His attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment Tuesday.

About 6:30 p.m. Jan. 21, officers called about a shooting in the 9100 block of Skillman Street, where they found a man on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds, according to anInvestigators reviewed surveillance camera footage showing two people walking up to Wrightsil. One was wearing a red jacket and the second was wearing an orange sweater, the affidavit says.

Footage of the incident showed Wrightsil speaking with the two people before a fight broke out, according to the affidavit. Wrightsil could be seen falling to the ground after the person in the orange sweater made “hand gestures as if he is shooting a handgun,” police wrote. A witness told officers they heard Wrightsil telling the pair, “I ain’t got nothing,” according to the affidavit. Police wrote in the affidavit that Wrightsil “had a lot of money” and that one of the men searched his pants.Shortly after the shooting, authorities learned someone matching the description of the person in the red jacket had walked into a hospital with a gunshot wound to his right leg, the affidavit says.

He was identified as Malik Donte Brown, 20, and arrested on a capital murder charge after being released from the hospital. He remained in custody Tuesday.Hojun Choi. Hojun Choi covers breaking news.
