Published 3 hours agoFirefighters with Dallas Fire-Rescue worked for more than two hours Thursday to put out a large 3-alarm fire at a vacant two-story building in far North Dallas.
According to DFR, the call came in at about 10:19 a.m. of a fire at a vacant building on the 11500 block of Anaheim Drive, near the intersection of interstates 635 and 35E. When firefighters arrived, DFR said heavy smoke was reported coming from the building and firefighters took a defensive approach from the onset.
From Texas Sky Ranger, flames were seen shooting through collapsed sections of the roof as the fire tore through the building. Thick, black smoke blew north across Forest Lane and Interstate 635, slowing onlooker traffic. DFR said most of the roof collapsed into the building, lessening the chance that they'll be able to go inside and determine the cause of the fire.targeted by city officials in a lawsuit after numerous complaints about the goings-on at the property.
