The suspects, all 15 years old, are accused of sexually assaulting a student in the locker room of Wyoming High School, reports say.
one of the teen suspects has been charged with one count of rape, three counts of kidnapping and one count of hazing. A second teen is charged with one count of gross sexual imposition, three counts of kidnapping and one count of hazing, and a third teen is charged with gross sexual imposition, two counts of kidnapping and one count of hazing, WCPO reports.
“I can tell you that this office takes these allegations very seriously,” Powers tells WLWT. “You want to feel safe when you go to school. It’s almost unthinkable that teammates — when you play on a team, you’re like a family — that teammates would turn on one person on the team and what was the motivation behind that? It’s something to really look at and what makes this so egregious.”
Powers tells Fox 19 the victim tried several times to escape but the suspects kept him from leaving the locker room. “I am absolutely horrified by the incident alleged to have taken place in the Wyoming High School locker room on Friday, April 28,” Wyoming City Schools Superintendent Tim Weber said in a statement to Fox 19. “We will take the strongest actions possible to support those in need.” He said the district is cooperating with the investigation.
