Officers used a tourniquet on an 18-year-old victim before he was transported to UAB Hospital. A 17-year-old was also transported to UAB. A 16-year-old victim had already been taken to the hospital by private vehicle.
When they arrived on the scene, said Sgt. Monica Law, they found two teen males – ages 18 and 17 – both suffering from gunshot wounds.
Officers were able to use a tourniquet on the 18-year-old victim before he was transported to UAB Hospital by Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service. A 17-year-old was also transported to UAB by BFRS.All three are said to have non-life-threatening injuries. Law said it appears there was a house party at a short-term vacation rental during the time of the shooting incident. It is unknown if any adults were there during the party.Anyone with information is asked to call felony assault detectives at 205-254-1764 or Crime Stoppers at 205-254-7777.
