The university had first urged the community to find shelter in a tweet at 8:42 p.m. and continued to share shelter-in-place warnings for more than an hour.EMERGENCY: Continue to shelter in place on Evanston campus. Police are searching for four suspects in a shooting at Clark Street Beach.The shooting happened just before 8:30 p.m. The suspects were seen heading north on Sheridan Road in a sedan. We will continue to update.
Sheridan Road is closed from Davis to Clark streets, according to Evanston police, who were not immediately available for further comment.
