“I went from tears of relief at the beginning to just euphoria for the ending of the game,” Holiday Bowl CEO Mark Neville. “We had a great crowd. There was a great vibe downtown. I really sensed that the fans were excited, the teams were excited. Everyone was just so happy to be there. The problem was believed to be caused by water from an overnight rainstorm getting between tarps covering the field and soaking into the ground.
“After every event, we celebrate all the successes,” Neville said. “We also look at places where we came up a little bit short, to make sure that doesn’t happen again and to determine how we fix it.” “A lot of coaches think you’re sitting around trying to beat them up,” Brown said, “you’re trying to find something.
