"My mom unexpectedly died at the end of May. I am a huge animal lover, as was she, and we asked people to donate to SPCA in lieu of flowers. So, to cope with the grief, I started volunteering at my local animal shelter.
In her honour, I was able to name one of the"It feels bittersweet that she was finally adopted since I was instantly attached. However, I’m just so grateful for people who choose to adopt and love animals, for my mom who shared her love of pets with me, and for this avenue of healing through taking care of cats and making my mom proud."
