The Chicago Fire Department said four firefighters were injured after a floor collapsed during a blaze in a Jeffery Manor townhome.
The extra-alarm fire broke out at about 3:38 a.m. in a two-story residence in the 2200-block of East 100th Street.
The firefighters were both within 10 feet of the front door. CFD was able to rescue the second firefighter within 5-10 minutes.CFD said four firefighters were transported to hospitals and none appeared to be seriously injured. A civilian refused transport, CFD said.
