Forty five suspects were arrested in a bid to smash county lines drugs gangs operating across Lancashire.
In East Lancashire, officers arrested 17 people and seized almost £150,000 in cash. Weapons and suspected Class A and Class B drugs were also recovered during the week and officers and staff took part in several protection and prevention activities. In Preston, Chorley, South Ribble and West Lancashire, 20 people were arrested and 10 vulnerable people visited and safeguarded. Officers also conducted 26 stop searches, seized ten weapons including a samurai sword, knuckle duster and a stun gun, cash totalling £8,160 and drugs including heroin, cocaine, cannabis and ketamine.
“These gangs’ prey on the vulnerable, including children, and exploit them at will, often leaving their victims with devastating long-term consequences”.
