Richard Sherman, in his new role as a Prime Video analyst, vehemently defended former 49ers teammate Jimmy Garoppolo but also supported Kyle Shanahan’s move to Trey Lance.
This should not sound surprising: Richard Sherman did not mince words in his debut as an analyst for Amazon Prime Video’s “Thursday Night Football.”
“It’s the most awkward situation I’ve ever heard of,” Sherman said on Prime Video’s pregame show. “It’s like a couple being divorced, and the divorced wife staying in the house while the husband gets re-married. “Now, Jimmy G did a phenomenal job. Took them to two NFC Championship games in the last three years. Took them to a Super Bowl and almost had it won,” Sherman added. “Their expectations for this kid are through the roof.”
Garoppolo will not play against the Texans, nor will a slew of other starters, including Elijah Mitchell, Trent Williams, Nick Bosa, Arik Armstead, Javon Kinlaw, Fred Warner, Emmanuel Moseley, Charvarius Ward and Jimmie Ward, according to multiple reports.
