The San Francisco 49ers are dealing with another injury to a star player -- this tme versatile wide receiver Deebo Samuel, who was carted off the field on Sunday.
Versatile wide receiver Deebo Samuel suffered an ankle injury in the second quarter of the game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday and won't return, the team announced.
The 26-year-old was injured on a 3-yard run when his leg was twisted as he was tackled to the ground. He fumbled on the play and the football was recovered by Bucs linebacker Lavonte David. Samuel stayed on the field in obvious pain as the football was recovered. A visibly emotional Samuel was eventually carted off the field. As Samuel exited the stadium, 49ers players went over to the cart to show their support and the crowd cheered as the cart went toward the tunnel.
