A multi-million-dollar government bailout package aimed at supporting regional media through the coronavirus crisis has been welcomed by industry experts, but they say it is unclear if it will be enough to help it survive in the long term.
One reporter, who asked not to be named, told the ABC some staff learned of the changes via media reports. "It's unclear exactly how that fund will work and if it will be enough or if it will be accessible to regional papers," she said.
