A five-year-old girl has been taken to hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries, while a man is on the run after a crash.
Police saw a Toyota overtake a tram on the wrong side of the road shortly before it crashed into a BMW sedan on Birdwood St, Maribyrnong, just after 6pm on Tuesday.
The BMW driver, a 34-year-old Sunshine North woman, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A five-year-old girl in the same car was also taken to hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries, police said.The Toyota driver, a 26-year-old Flemington man, was taken to hospital under police guard with serious injuries.
A Flemington man, 24, who was a passenger in the Toyota, was also taken to hospital with serious injuries.Four people were taken to hospital.
