Supplied: Queensland PoliceIn a statement police said 40 kilograms of cocaine was found at the Jimmys Rock boat ramp at Midge Point, 100 kilometres north of Mackay, about 8am on Saturday. Rural fire fighters were called and arrived to find a flat-bed truck, which had a crane mounted on the back, well alight. A torn package was found at a boat ramp on Jimmys Rock Road.
Police were called to the boat ramp, which is only accessible by a dirt road, after the suspicious packages were found near the burning truck.
"Police conducted extensive patrols of the area including on land and in nearby water," the statement said. Police are appealing for witnesses after 40 kilograms of cocaine was located at Midge Point on Saturday. Police are asking that anyone near the boat ramp between midnight and 12.15am on Saturday with relevant information, CCTV or dashcam footage come forward.
