The Exorcist: Believer will outdo Saw X.

Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Although both movies should pull in an audience, The Exorcist: Believer is set to beat Saw X at the box office this October. Horror movies have long fascinated and disgusted viewers, and most of them provide commentary on societal fears while offering jolts of adrenaline. This genre can include striking, nightmarish visuals that viewers won't easily forget.

Additionally, Kramer as the hero will dampen the impact of him as the villain in earlier movies. Saw X takes place between Saw and Saw II. The Saw movies don't occur in chronological order, meaning Saw IV and Jigsaw both took place before this movie as well. As such, Kramer will have committed multiple murders already. He'll have tortured his first set of victims. Kramer had no problem carving jigsaw pieces out of human flesh in prior films.

Alternatively, The Exorcist: Believer is a soft reboot of the franchise which will help it beat Saw X at the box office. The filmmakers only need to consider the events of The Exorcist, and they don't need to incorporate the plot of the four other sequels. Characters like Chris and Regan MacNeil still exist in this movie, and their stories will need to tie in — especially since Chris definitely appears. They can forget characters like Sarah and Lt. Kinderman, though.

2 Saw X Introduces More Unrelatable Characters Since its inception, the Saw franchise has had an issue with underdeveloped and unrelatable characters. Most of Kramer's victims are one-dimensional and flat. To be fair, Saw's appeal mostly comes from the gory contraptions people must escape; however, gore can only go so far in a horror movie. Saw X sets itself up to fail by making the game contestants a bunch of corrupt medical providers, a demographic most people won't connect with.
