No longer merely able to track your steps, sleep and runs, the best of the best function as powerful extensions of your smartphone, comprehensive health monitors, and real-time fitness trackers right on your wrist.recently dropped its new flagship model, the Amazfit Balance 3, and I’ve been putting it through its paces for the past few weeks — wearing it for a half marathon race , training runs, walks and much more.

My first thought when I laid eyes on the Amazfit Balance 3is built for rigorous daily training, while the scratch-resistant sapphire glass and titanium shell protects a vivid 1.5” display for clear data visibility. , I was aware that for regular day-to-day life, it does look a little on the large side for my smaller wrists.my immediate impressions were that I loved the light bright display, which is easy to see and easy to read — even in broad daylight.because it has such a big watch face, you can actually keep on top of a number of different statistics mid-run, not just your pace.

I particularly enjoyed watching my heart rate climb and drop down in tough interval sessions — a sign of my improving fitness.when setting out for early morning runs in the dark, as well as the mid-run monitoring of performance and how you are feeling.than your watch running out of battery before you head out of the door for a run, or worse: mid run. With the Balance 3, this didn’t happen once.

Other features that I grew to love include things like the Weekly Focus, Training Balance and HybridCharge system, which combines training load, recovery and daily demands. I found this instrumental in planning exactly what kind of run my body needed that day, and when I needed to pull back and let my body adjust.is also great for a number of other sports aside from running, whether you’re into swimming, cycling, golf, HYROX or tennis.

There is much to commend with this watchBut it also does everything I know and have come to expect from my fitness tracker, whether that’s keeping an eye on my HRV , watching my resting heart rate or just monitoring my overall steps. One of the reasons why I love my smartwatches is because they so often provide an accurate snapshot of my health, telling me when I’m in peak fitness, and when I’m getting sick.is no exception to this.

It displayed my rising HRV whenever I had a glass of wine or started to get a cold. There wasn’t much about the Amazfit Balance 3This was an unneccessrily finnicky processthat tracks all of the things you might want when leading up to a big race, and you want something that feels premium, the Amazfit Balance 3 is definitely worth your consideration. I usually wear a Garmin Forerunner 970, which is three times the price, but barely noticed the difference.

The only thing I would say is that this model is a little on the large side to feel truly comfortable, unless you’re a man, in which case I think it would look fine.
