MGM isn't close to casting the next James Bond, and the only updates are bad news, as strong candidates are now totally out of the running.
There are still so many questions surrounding James Bond 26, including who will play the British spy, and while the studio is no closer to casting the character, several fan-favorite choices are totally out of the running. After the way No Time to Die ended, it's hardly surprising that MGM is looking for somebody to replace Daniel Craig.

Movies like Inception and This Means War perfectly showcases Hardy pulling off badass action sequences in suits. Unfortunately, given that Broccoli is looking for an actor in their 30s, that immediately knocks Hardy out of the line-up.
6 Henry Cavill Henry Cavill has been considered to play Bond twice, as not only was he a frontrunner for Bond 26, but he auditioned for Casino Royale too. Unfortunately, as Cavill isn't playing Superman anymore and he isn't returning to The Witcher, the actor has lost to iconic roles within such quick succession, and it looks like he won't be playing James Bond either. But though Cavill will not be playing Bond, that was the actor's own decision.
4 Daniel Kaluuya Daniel Kaluuya's name has often been a big part of the debate when it comes to the next James Bond actor. The actor is 34 and has an enormously entertaining on-screen presence whether it's in the horror thriller Get Out or the superhero movie Black Panther. Kaluuya has so much range and would make a great Bond, but the actor doesn't agree. Kaluuya seemingly backed out of the running, explaining, "I just don’t know if I’d want to watch my version of James Bond.
