The octogenarian was in her late 30s when she helped found the first women’s ice hockey team in the Washington, DC area, where she played for 10 years — until she decided it was time to hang up her skates.until she turned 75 because they asked her to leave. Linda Sinrod, of Lorton, Virginia, is a former college figure skater who plays in a women’s ice hockey league.“Since I am older and therefore slower than anyone else, it is easier for the opposing players to catch up to me and steal the puck away,” she explained.
That setback didn’t stop her from pursuing her passion for the puck. After she was kicked off the team, she joined the women’s league for which she currently plays.At age 67, Linda Sinrod returned to the sport and played until she turned 75.
