Scott Morrison says he has spoken to Anthony Albanese to congratulate him on his election victory as the outgoing prime minister concedes defeat.
Mr Morrison has given his concession speech from Liberal headquarters in Sydney as Labor leader Anthony Albanese is projected to win the 2022 federal election.
“It’s a difficult night for Liberals and Nationals around the country as nights like these always are,” he said. “Tonight I have spoken to the leader of the opposition and the incoming prime minister Anthony Albanese and I’ve congratulated him on his election victory this evening.”
