Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell says there has been a development late last week in the Indigenous Voice to Parliament referendum debate.

Mr Clennell said the Solicitor-General and the Attorney-General provided advice to the Referendum Working Group that “they might like to alter the referendum question”.

“The proposal will – as I understand it – involve the Voice being required to give advice to both parliament and executive government,” he said.“The Attorney and Solicitor-General were saying perhaps a line could be added stressing parliament had the power to legally implement Voice recommendations – that has yet to be accepted.”
