Trade Minister Don Farrell says he received a “very positive reaction” from representatives in Europe and maintains he is “confident” a free trade agreement can be reached.
Mr Farrell recently returned from Geneva where he was working on a free trade agreement years in the making, alongside the European Union and other nations.
“We’ve got some hard negotiating to do over the next few months but I had a very positive reaction from all the Europeans that I met.“I believe any obstacles that might have been in the way as a result of decisions from the former government they’ve put aside – and I think we can work with them and the rest of our European friends to get a free trade agreement.”
