The New South Wales government has introduced a slew of new restrictions on Greater Sydney residents which will come into effect from 5pm on Friday in a bid to crack down on a growing COVID-19 outbreak.

Funerals will be reduced down to 10 attendees from Sunday - allowing funerals planned for this weekend to go ahead. She also stressed no one was allowed to receive visitors into their home unless it is for essential care, dropping off essential goods, or in exceptional circumstances. NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard said the government was making it clear"that what we're trying to do is strike the balance of compassion and common sense."
