But in the Northern Territory there’s a potential resource some analysts say could supply Australia’s domestic gas supply needs for up to 200 years. Tamboran Resources CEO Joel Riddle says there is “incredible potential” for the Beetaloo Basin to be explored to aid Australia’s energy crisis. “This is a basin that is what I believe is one of the largest untapped gas resources in the world,” he told Sky News Australia.
“It was initially discovered in 2013 and we’re now reaching a tipping point into moving further into development.”
