Former prime minister John Howard says the main reason a lot of Australians will vote 'No' to the Voice to Parliament is the government’s “failure” to explain what is involved. A Reserve Strategic poll found 57 per cent of voters are planning to vote ‘No’ and only 39 per cent of voters in Western Australia and Queensland support the referendum. “We have no idea of precisely how this body is going to be elected,” Mr Howard told Sky News host Paul Murray. “We haven’t been told precisely how many people are going to be elected, we haven’t been told what their terms of engagement are once they’ve been elected. “We’ve been told ‘if you vote for it we’ll tell you then’ – that is nothing short of insulting to the Australian people.”
