A Queensland single mother has been left “heartbroken” after she was denied the chance to reunite with her young son as a result of the state’s hard border with New South Wales.
Simone, who is fully vaccinated, has not seen her eight-year-old son, Lucius, for two-and-a-half months after he travelled to Sydney during the June school holidays to visit his father.
The requirement has angered Simone and has pleaded with authorities to allow her son, and other children stranded interstate, to return home.
