Former speaker of the house Bronwyn Bishop questions the point of students of “striving to achieve” if they are taught their country is illegitimate and climate change will ruin their lives. Ms Bishop’s comments come as the latest NAPLAN results show a drop in overall academic standards among school aged students. “You’ve got teachers who are teaching this misery, and you’ve got kids who are receiving it,” she told Sky News host Paul Murray.
