Only three people out of the many workers at the ABC decided to work on Australia Day and took a different day off, according to The Australian’s Media Writer Sophie Elsworth.

“Who would have thought that staff at the ABC actually like taking Australia Day off and celebrating it like most Australians,” Ms Elsworth told Sky News host Chris Kenny. “We’ve got this story today, Chris, where Senate Estimates question on notice came back in their latest Estimates hearing. “And David Anderson, the ABC boss, was asked how many staff at the ABC who are entitled to having Australia Day off say, ‘look, I don’t feel it’s culturally appropriate … I’m going to work on Australia Day and take that day as another day off which is more appropriate.
“The question on notice found that there’s only three in the entire ABC … that actually decided to take this stance.”
