Liberal Senator Hollie Hughes says it is “just ridiculous” to suggest Prime Minister Scott Morrison had any ill-intent with his “blessed” comment during the Sky News People’s Forum debate.
Mr Morrison, during the debate on Wednesday night, said he and his wife were “blessed” to not have disabled children. “I have to be honest … I was watching the debate, it just did not even register with me at all,” Ms Hughes told Sky News host Andrew Bolt. “I have three children, my middle one has autism, I take no offence whatsoever, I know what Scott’s intent was, and it was to recognise the additional challenges that parents of a special needs child, that they face.”
