The Australian’s Foreign Editor Greg Sheridan says Opposition Leader Peter Dutton’s plan to purchase two nuclear-powered submarines from the US is “magical thinking”.
“The chances of these first two actually ever existing is very, very slight,” he told Sky News host Peta Credlin.“You’ve got to go through all kinds of political cycles in America and in Australia.”
Mr Sheridan said if these first two submarines are built in the US, then all remaining submarines should also be built there, as opposed to making them in Australia.
