Greens leader Adam Bandt says the party room has met and authorised him to commence negotiations with the Albanese government with the aim of improving and passing the climate bill.
The Albanese government is expected to table its climate bill in the first week of parliament to legislate its 2030 and 2050 emission reduction targets.“Well, obviously, the target is too weak, and it’s not just us who’s saying that, Pacific Islanders are saying that.
“We know that this target is consistent with more bleaching of the reef, crop failures, worst fires and floods, but there are other issues with the bill itself.”
