Tourism and Transport Forum CEO Margy Osmond says the “vast bulk of people” are not interested in travelling interstate due to the dominant presence of Omicron impacting states and territories.

“Regional communities are probably doing very well out of the current situation, CBDs are a mess, nobody’s going there,” Ms Osmond told Sky News Australia. “But I think the big issue is the patterns have changed dramatically, and I think at the core of that is people’s lack of certainty about the rules in different states and the fear of getting stuck behind a border and the fact that we don’t have that national consistency.
